On 3rd October 2023, Nemo Link held our Annual Customer Forum at Shangri-La, the Shard in London.

It was a great event, with a number of customers attending both in person and virtual, and joining us from both the UK and across Europe.

Nemo Link were joined by guest speakers from Elia and JAO, discussing a number of topics relevant to our customers including Operational Performance, Commercial and Market Updates, Regulatory Updates with a focus on the EU CBAM and having an interactive session on System considerations. The forum also provided an opportunity for our customers to provide much valued feedback on Nemo Link and we are grateful to all who shared their thoughts and comments.

Come and meet us at our Intraday Launch Workshop in Brussels on 23rd October 2019!

This workshop will include critical information on Nemo Link’s intraday auction and nomination platforms. As well as providing an update on Nemo Link’s first 9 months of operation, we have also scheduled presentations from JAO, Elia, NGESO and have also organised a visit to Coreso’s control room for those interested in learning more about cross border electricity flows and regional security coordination in NW Europe impacting available interconnector capacities. Following the event attendees are invited to join us for dinner.

To ensure interested parties have a chance to further understand our auction and nomination processes and in readiness for explicit auctions, we have arranged a two-day operational workshop to launch our product offering and systems.

This is an ideal opportunity to meet the Nemo Link team and other interconnector traders.

Day one　(12th February 2019) we will be joined by subject matter experts from JAO and Nord Pool at our workshop.

We would also be delighted if you would be able to join us in the evening at a dinner to celebrate the launch of Nemo Link.

Day two　(13th February 2019) will be focused entirely on training for the new Regional Nomination Platform run by the RNP developer, Unicorn Systems.

Customers gained insight into our Brexit preparations and contingency planning at an event held at The Connaught Hotel in London on June 28.

Nemo Link and IFA hosted a joint Brexit Forum for their customers to share the latest thinking regarding systems and process implications and address any areas of concern.

Whilst “no deal” is not expected, any responsible business would need to consider the implications of all scenarios and this session explained how trade will continue, whatever the Brexit weather.

Over a distance of 140 km and at depths up to 50 m, Elia, the Belgian high-voltage electricity transmission operator and its UK counterparty, National Grid, are working at the first electrical interconnection between Belgium and the UK: Nemo Link.

You are curious to learn more about these works and about the advantages of such an interconnection?

Come to the Nemo Link converter station in Bruges on Sunday 6th of May and discover how we convert alternating current into direct current and reverse.

The converter station is the landing point of the cables and there, the electricity is ‘prepared’ for the transportation between both countries.

A walking tour with information panels and ‘good-to-know’ stories will take you through the stories of transformers, interconnectors and subsea cables.
