Nemo Link Announce NEW Summer 2025 Seasonal Product

Nemo Link are delighted to announce the introduction of our new  SEASONAL product, for the first time for 2025.

The first seasonal auctions will be for  Summer 2025 which will be for delivery period from 1^st April 2025 until 1^st October 2025 (excluding one week planned outage in September).

The Summer 2025 auctions will be held on 3rd and 4th December on JAO’s e-CAT platform. Please find the auction details below:

Nemo Link updates its dynamic overload facility hours

From tomorrow, 17 April 2024, Nemo Link will move its dynamic overload facility which is current running each day between 17:00 – 22:00 CE(S)T to new timings between 10:00 – 15:00 CE(S)T.

This means the Maximum Physical Transfer Capacity (MPTC) of the interconnector at mid-channel reference point will be 1032MW for a period of 5 hours each day between 10:00-15:00 CE(S)T and please note this is only available in the direction BE to GB.

Subject to the day ahead capacity calculation process, market participants will see Nemo Link’s unrestricted Day Ahead Net Transfer Capacity (NTC) of 1032MW (BE to GB direction) between 10:00-15:00 CE(S)T in the day ahead auction on 16 April 2024 for delivery on 17 April 2024.

Any unallocated capacity will flow through to intraday auctions, subject to a further intraday capacity calculation process.

Effective from delivery 17/04/2024 until further notice

Background information:

The design of the interconnector means that Nemo Link has the ability to operate the interconnector for short periods (e.g. 5 hours) in excess of its nominal continuous rating by taking advantage of the thermal characteristics of the plant and the in-built redundancy of the cooling systems. Increasing the flow of the interconnector by 20MW is therefore possible for a few hours. This has been introduced on Nemo Link since 18^th December 2019.

Nemo Link announces first Y+2 product – CAL 2025 auction

SAVE THE DATE for Nemo Link’s 1st CAL25

Nemo Link are pleased to announce the introduction of our new Y+2 product, 1^st time ever auctioning capacity 2 years ahead of delivery on the GB-BE border.

The first CAL25 on the GB-BE border will be held on 7 and 8 June 2023 on JAO’s e-CAT platform.

VOLUMES
50 MW will be offered in both directions.

COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS
To participate in this auction, Bank Guarantees (Letter of Credit) will need to be valid until at least 4th March 2025.

Alternatively, for cash on deposit, once successful in the auction, 1/12^th of the total value of this yearly capacity will be decreased from your credit limit until December 2024.

The calendar also includes provisional dates for CAL25 (II) and (III) in September and November. We expect to offer similar volumes in these auctions to CAL25 (I).

Nemo Link is pleased to announce the upcoming annual capacity auction for Calendar 2022 on 10th and 11th May 2021 on the JAO’s eCAT platform.

This auction will replace the CAL 2022 auction that was planned on 1^st and 2^nd June 2021.

Nemo Link’s first intraday auctions start tomorrow

The first intraday auctions on Nemo Link start tomorrow. Market Participants will have the option to use hourly nomination gates to optimise their positions – a first for a Channel interconnector.

The first intraday auction will be held tomorrow on the JAO’s eCAT platform between 09:30 and 09:55 CET. Below is a snap shot of all intraday auctions taking place tomorrow:
